About Us

The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) of Fiji is a Constitutional Office established under the Constitution of the Republic of the Fiji Islands .

The Constitution requires the Auditor General to inspect and audit, and report to the Parliament every year the accounts of the State. He or she provides independent assurance to Parliament and the public at large that public sector entities have used public funds for the purposes they have been appropriated and in accordance with legislations, financial management rules and regulations.

The Auditor General is responsible for the annual audits of 138 public sector entities including ministries and departments, statutory authorities, government commercial companies, commercial statutory authorities, municipal and provincial councils.

The audit services provided by the Auditor General include financial and compliance audits, special investigations, forensic and performance audits and environment audits. It also provides parliamentary services in terms of production of reports containing significant audit findings for Parliament and provision of advice to the Public Accounts Committee and other committees of Parliament.

Our Role

The OAG provides assurances to Parliament, government entities and the public at large that government resources have been utilized for the purposes appropriated by Parliament; and attestation services on the financial statements and accounts of government 100% owned commercial entities. Its audit findings are reported directly to auditees and through its reports to the Parliament.
